The first of two scheduled DLC packs for Assassin's Creed II, we can't help but think the content within should have made an appearance on disk when the game was released.

The first expansion for Assassin's Creed II is a little underwhelming, but there is short-lived fun to be had with it. There is only around an hour of gameplay included, but the four dollar price tag is also easy on your wallet.

Although its low cost we miss more content in this first Assassin’s Creed II DLC. The Battle of Forli is an interesting add-on for the main game, but for future expansions we wish for something more.

Assassin’s Creed II: The Battle of Forli. Hopes were high when Ubisoft released The Battle of Forli, the first DLC pack for Assassin’s Creed II, but sadly Ezio takes a misstep here. The Battle of Forli shows us what happened during Ezio’s Memory Sequence number 12. He is back in Forli and he… well, the title says it all. Ezio battles each and everyone in the city. Caterina Sforza, Ezio’s hostess, is an interesting enough character, but the constant killing makes one obtunded. At least the price of the DLC (4 euros) is affordable. [Mar 2010]

Expect about an hour of play, give or take. If you're desperate for more Assassin's, jump right in. Just be aware that you're only getting half the story.

When Ezio returns in the first Assassin's Creed II expansion his adventures are Way to short and not very interesting. The lack of trophies and achievements is also disappointing.

This DLC has nice contents, but you're paying extra money for a chapter of the main story. Taking this sequence away from the original game, Ubisoft ruined the Forlì experience, turning it into a simple checkpoint before Venice.

This disappointing and ultra-contrived add-on doesn't improve Assassin's Creed II; it detracts from it.

The Battle of Forli shouldn't be considered an expansion pack. because it simply isn't. Its content belonged in the main game in the first place, as it contains a relatively important part of Assassin's Creed 2's story.

By any objective measurement, this a poor attempt at adding a new sequence to an excellent game which already boasted a generous amount of content. Had it added more explorational elements, or another secret location to discover, it would have been worth the effort - but to simply stitch together forgettable melee encounters and chases with new cut-scenes is some distance from being enough.

For avid Assassin's Creed fans filling in the story gap might be worth the £3 asking price, otherwise Battle of Forli is an ungenerous and forgettable add-on.

At around 40 minutes Battle of Forli is also an extremely short piece of DLC. The cheap price of 320 Microsoft Points can justify it, but for such a small amount of content and the same gameplay we’ve already spent 15 hours playing, it isn’t really worth it.

The Battle of Forlì is a disappointing DLC that is build on some of the weakest parts of the original game; not really an essential purchase then, even at the low price point.

Sure it’s only 320 points on Xbox Live but there’s just no real reason to grab this unless you want to hear that countess of Forli lady talk about touching and kissing her breasts and flashing her privates as she taunts some guards.

This is only for the must have completionists wanting to fill in the gaps for the story.

Ezio battles against the evil Orsi brothers, sent by Rodrigo Borgia to Forli to get the Piece of Eden. Although The Battle of Forli is a pretty short addition to Assassin's Creed II, it's an intensive chapter and introduces a great female character, Caterina Sforza. But despite its low price, the revelation it was meant to be originally a part of the original game and it was only set a part to be sold as DLC drives us to give it a thumbs down.

It seems like a fairly cheap move delivering what now comes across as an incomplete experience without purchasing this download content, and seeing as this is being listed with a $4.00/£3.20 buying price, it isn't exactly cheap to experience it.
