Summary
(Downloadable Content) The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is an add-on pack for Borderlands with new enemy types, new missions, and new ... surprises. The Jakobs Corporation would like to invite you to experience the splendor of a corporate owned small town known as Jakobs Cove. Any rumors you may have heard about the "undead" walking our streets are completely preposterous and we officially deny them all. If those rumors turn out to be true simply purchase a firearm from the conveniently located Jakobs Brand Vending Machines and aim for the head. Also, would you mind saving our employees? (Non-union only please).

In releasing this DLC, Gearbox and 2K have done what seems to be so difficult for other studios: drop a well designed, value laden expansion pack in a timely manner.

At $10 or whatever that translates to in Microsoft fun money, you're looking at at least another eight hours of gameplay (maybe more if you don't work on the brain-hunting missions while doing all the other ones). At that price, Zombie Island just may be the perfect place for your next vacation, and for your next level up too.

A nice beginning for what we hope will be regular DLC updates for this great game.

Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is an excellent DLC able to expand both on Borderlands' world and gameplay. You can expect hours of fun and a really good overall expansion.

With the inclusion of Zombies, Borderlands: the Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is actually not more of the same and definitely throws a curve ball into the genre and as Zombies are the in thing at the moment, it's great to send these undead back to their graves for good, just make sure you have some wet wipes available because it's going to get messy!

Moody new environments, diverse new foes, and even more of Borderlands' signature humor make this new content very entertaining and very worthwhile.

The entire package presents some of the best Borderlands' gameplay to date, and this first batch of downloadable content is more entertaining than any plot-arc on the disk.

A thoroughly enjoyable and action-filled story, The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned should be on the top of your Must Download list for those who want to extend their Borderlands experience. It’s offbeat and comical but you will have a great time so if you own the game you should certainly download this mission.

If you haven't gotten completely burned out of Borderlands' shoot-'n-loot hijinks or are looking to pick the game back up, taking a relatively new character through the perils of The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is certainly a worthwhile endeavor.

The bottom line is that if you’re a fan of the original game, then this is a must-download.

The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is a solid addition for anyone who wants more Borderlands, but the lack of additional items or further opportunities for character building feel like a missed opportunity that could have given this content a lasting effect.

If nothing else, it's entirely fitting that a game that's always been brilliantly brainless is now genuinely brain-dead as well. Oh, and I finally got that bloody Mario-themed Achievement. SCORE.

With a dark and gritty seasonal feel to the level design, an endless stream of undead cannon fodder and a mad Dr. You can't go wrong with this DLC.

While it'd be great to get some downloadable content that adds in character class skills, heaps of new items, bumps up the level cap, or builds in more interesting and complex quest and encounter mechanics, what's presented here is a guaranteed good time.

The new setting and enemies offer a refreshing change of pace, and the comedic writing, characters and pop culture references are as good as ever.

The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is a humorous and entertaining episode to extend the Borderlands experience. However, it can be a bit repetitive at times, and it lacks any worthwhile souvenirs.

While lacking a few key wanted features (new level cap and weapons), Zombie Island still brings enough to the table to make a solid first expansion.
Good enemies variety and the new dark setting deliver an average amount of fun for those who love the original game. It won't last long, but it's still a fair deal.
The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned is maybe not attractive in terms of new weapons, skills or a higher level cap, but it’s funny, long and surprisingly comical.

Solid but not great, the first DLC pack is best when it the content is original. The final boss fight in the game makes the pack worth $10.
For those that have the means and already enjoy the campy humor of Borderlands, Zombie Island of Dr. Ned may be just what you’re looking for. For those who are trying to stretch their gaming dollar, this is a tougher recommendation to make.

Daniel S gave it a10:
Along with Oblivion's "The Shivering Isles" and GTA's "Ballad of Gay Tony", Borderlands: The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned has the highest playtime/cost ratio of any DLC. By that I mean it provides a dozen hours of gameplay, yet only costs 800 MS points. Some DLC on Xbox Live costs 1200 MS Points, but only provides 3-4 hours of gameplay. For anyone sitting on the fence, do not hesitate to sprint to your Xbox and download this DLC pack after the end of this sentence.
kelly M gave it a9:
This is a LOT of content for $10. Not only did I buy ths for myself but I two more copies of the game and this DLC for my son (XBox360) and my stepson (PS3), A lot of the reviews from other sites and mags are untrue - that you have to be at 42nd level or so to take this on. you can take it on at whatever level you are at in the first playthru or second playthru. It seems to level up just fine. I first played it at 10th level I got the BEST loot out of this and it is great for leveling up, even tho some reviews I have read incorrectly state that you cannot level up with this DLC. If you enjoy Borderlands, this is a MUST download.
Pedro C gave it a10:
This is the best DLC I have ever played. The enemies were awesome! Loot Goon and WereSkags were my favorite.
S. McVities gave it a10:
Must download in my opinion :)
Jacob L. gave it a9:
For $10, it's loaded with more hours of gameplay than most dlc. If you already own Borderlands and you like the game, you can't go wrong with this. Oh yeah, it has zombies too.
Mike K. gave it a9:
I have to say, I really enjoyed this DLC. The opening was funny, the bosses were fun to battle, the missions weren't repetitive, the ending/closure were satisfying. Co-op is great, like the rest of Borderlands. Overall fun and enjoyable.
