Xbox World 360 Magazine UK
The best new puzzle game since 2005's Lumines and one of the best puzzle 'toys' on Xbox 360. [Apr 2010, p.121]
Gamer.nl
What we’ve got is a brilliant puzzle game with brilliant music of brilliant composers, on sale for a mere 400 Microsoft points of which the majority goes to charity. I don’t think anyone can find an excuse not to buy Chime.

Chime is a surprisingly good game. The puzzle concept in combination with the rhythm is addictive and more complex than you would think at first glance. This alone makes Chime worth the purchase. Its low price and good cause are extra reasons to make this game a must-have purchase.

What helps is that this is all wrapped up in some of the most seamless and enjoyable interactive music you’ll ever hear in a videogame.

Chime is a charity game, but far from a charity case. At 400 points you would be forgiven for buying it as your good deed for the year, but what you will actually get it one of the best and most well balanced puzzle games in years.

Chime should be in everyone's game library not only because it helps out two worthy causes, but because it is a game that anyone can play.

A simple idea that has never been done before. A short and fun title at a reasonable price considering it's for charity. I would like to see more of the same in the future.

It's fun to play, looks great, has plenty of content, only costs 400 points and that money goes to charity - if you're at all interested in Lumines, Tetris, electronica or having a good time, it would be churlish not to plunk down the cash.

Though missing a multiplayer component, Chime has a fun gameplay style that will have players wanting to beat their own scores way past after clearing the grids a 100 percent.

A really lovely puzzler. Relaxing, addictive, cheap and charming. [May 2010, p.83]
Pelit (Finland)
A mesmerizing fusion of Tetris and Lumines with great music that comes at an affordable price. [Apr 2010]
GameTrailers
The electro bleeps range from the avant-garde Philip Glass to the avant-hard of Orbital, and likely your love of this type of music will determine if this is a must-have or an impulse purchase.

At least $3 of the $5 you spend will go to charity, and you'll get at least several hours' worth of play time.

Chime as a whole is utterly mesmerising in the way that only puzzlers of its kind are. An aural treat for the mind.

Chime is an inexpensive, fun music game that results in helping someone in need; can you ask for something better? The value for the asking price is excellent even without the charity piled on top. Chime is definitely worth checking out.

Chime is easy to recommend. It's cheap, it'll keep you amused for hours, and the $5 you spend goes to charity.

It manages to take inspiration from known quantities in the puzzle and rhythm genres to create something that feels distinctive and, more importantly, is a lot of fun. That the bulk of your money is going to charity is a feel-good bonus for a game that deserves your time regardless.

Chimes makes itself lovable for its simplicity, its concept and above all the relaxed atmosphere surrounding it, following other "quiet" games like flOw or Osmos.

Sure, the game is a superb effort as a charity drive, but I see it more as a social experiment.

Chime is a funny game. There are only five different songs in the game, but they are all perfect. When you get caught by the hypnotic flow of Chime, you'll be playing this game for hours and hours.
Chime does a good job of providing a fun and enjoyable experience that may not have a ton of music to choose from, but it offers enough to make the 400 Microsoft points ($5 US) a worthy expense when most of that cost will be going to charity.

When you’re in those tween-game moments where you need an ocean of calm, and you can’t afford your own personal masseuse or steam bath, Chime is the perfect antidote to the stresses of modern gaming.

It's addictive and for charity. Nice one. [Apr 2010, p.111]
XboxAddict
At 400 Microsoft points and the fact that it’s going to charity, I can easily recommend it to those looking for a new music based puzzler.

Don't let the charity aspect fool you - this is an excellent, if shallow, puzzle game in its own right.

When a game comes along that is this visually, audibly, and mentally pleasing, it's not something to ignore. I recommend checking Chime out. For five bucks, it's really not bad, you're supporting a good cause, and maybe we can get the sequel that would really make Chime ring.

A lack of depth doesn't stop Chime from quietly turning its own genre on its head either. Zoë Mode's game shows what can happen when you give up destruction in favour of creation, and exchange tension for a kind of dreamy calm.

The positive score is fully justified. [Issue#57, p.107]
games(TM)
Chime is a small game, but it's one with a big heart. [Issue#95, p.127]
Official Xbox Magazine
Lack of variety and depth. [Apr 2010, p.83]
Console Monster
A brilliantly-designed title that players can easily sit down and relax to. Whilst it lacks in terms of content, the title can be enjoyed in short bursts and the donation to charity makes the Xbox Live Arcade title a deserving purchase, especially at the 400 Microsoft Points price tag.

belsunce H gave it a9:
A friend recommended this game and it is *really* good. Part Lumines, part Tetris, it also channels REZ inasmuch as how you play affects how it sounds (always very cool, imo) and those Bit Generation games on the GBA. Looking really simple initially, it's actually quite deep, as you can either go for grid coverage or highscore (or both, if you're really good. I'm still struggling). most of all, it's very chill / cool to play. possibly the best 400 points I've spent in the XBLA marketplace since I got my 360. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Davy C. gave it a9:
An absolutely AMAZING game. Strongly recommended. Not only cheap (Approx. £6) but 60% will go to charity. It is addictive, fun, and well worth checking out. And, on top of all that, you get 50G JUST for buying the game!
Cindabella gave it a10:
Absolutely love it! The music is great especially how the song changes depending on how well you are going. Could not believe it was only 400 point!!
Kevin G. gave it an8:
An amazing mash up of Tetris , Lumines and Qix - Great fun and all for a good cause too !
Rob H. gave it a9:
This game is fantastic! Here's to hoping for some DLC, because where it stands the 5 included levels are not enough. Other than that, pitch perfect. Kudos for including Philip Roth...Cliff Martinez would be another great choice (Solaris).
