Summary
Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs reunites fans with Scrat, Sid, Manny and Diego in an all-new quest based on the upcoming film from Twentieth Century Fox. As the unlikely herd travels across the tundra and beyond, they stumble upon another world - a lush Dinosaur World teeming with jungles, mysterious plants, fierce dinosaurs, wild new adventures and several new friends. Taking on the role of more than six playable characters, including everyone's favorite Ice Age friends and newly introduced characters, players master their unique skills and abilities across more than 15 action-packed levels. In addition to the expanded features of the single-player gameplay, for the first time in an Ice Age game, players can team up with friends and family in eight competitive multiplayer mini-games. Experience continuously changing gameplay through more than 15 levels - Every level presents new and exciting challenges as players learn and master each character’s abilities in order to defeat enemies, traverse dangerous landscapes, avoid obstacles and escape from perilous situations. Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is a welcome game and one that doesn't just follow the tried and trusted formula of the 'movie tie-in' video game.

Dawn of the Dinosaurs is a fantastic game for any children in your family, anyone who likes the movies will love this game.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is very sharp, lighthearted and fun game that will please younger fans of the movie with its varied gameplay, good looks and clever writing. A recommended purchase for fans of the movie.

I would recommend Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs to just about anyone looking for a totally fun and moderately challenging gameplay experience with all of the flavor and style of the Ice Age movies.

While the gameplay does tend to get a bit repetitive at the end kids should have fun controlling their favorite characters throughout the whole adventure.

There’s a lot going for Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs that works. The main reason why a gamer should invest in purchasing Dawn of the Dinosaurs is that it’s a great adaptation that looks and plays well.

To all parents: Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is a must-have title for your children on the Xbox 360 – don’t hesitate any longer, rent or buy the prehistoric video game as soon as you can.

Overall, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is a fun game. Parents looking for a good clean game for the kids to enjoy should look no further.

A pleasing adaptation of a family-favorite franchise. All around good fun and despite the short length, there is plenty of extras to come back to. Not exactly a blockbuster title, but a nice addition to a child's catalogue for sure. The older crowd can at least appreciate it for a bit of fun and an easy gamerscore boost.

For the child and the child in all of us, give it a whirl, but if you steadfastly insist you grew up a long time ago, please move along; there's nothing for you to see here.

The game clocks in at less than three hours with a skilled gamer at the helm, but kids interested in taking Sid and his friends on a fun journey will find plenty to love.

Overall, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is game that will please its target audience. But for those that do not consider themselves Ice Age fans, or fall out of the under 12-year old age bracket, then Dawn of the Dinosaurs will inevitably disappoint.

Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is an entertaining game for kids. Lots of typical Ice Age humour is interwoven in this game. The only bad thing is the length and the fact that it's all a bit too simple, so therefore platform lovers should better leave this game on the shelves.

There are plenty of fun movie-inspired platforming levels, and the unlockable multiplayer modes certainly add some replay value. If you or someone you know loves the Ice Age franchise, then this game will certainly please fans without giving them too much of a challenge.

It falls short of an unqualified recommendation at full-price because of a difficulty curve that's more or less flatlined, and the sometimes glacial (as an 'ice age', ha!) pace of the action. [Sept 2009, p.75]
Level7.nu
In the videogame adaptation of the Ice Age 3 movie you'll get to control several characters from the movie. Most levels have a unique flavor of their own which leads to a varied but also somewhat splintered experience. Everything from Indiana Jones inspired levels to controlling dinosaur spaceship is represented in the game. Though it might be a somewhat uneven experience Ice Age 3 is still the best movie based game for kids thus far.

It's definitely enjoyable, just not as polished as a AAA title might be.

I was left wanting more, and wondering why solid gameplay sections were only used once.
Ice Age may be kid-friendly, funny, and faithful to the movie, but it's also repetitive and over too quickly.

I personally enjoyed the variety of gameplay and chasing the Achievements for challenges, but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone but an Ice Age super-fan under the age of 10.

If you are a parent who is looking for a game to play with their child that both of you can enjoy: this succeeds quite admirably. It even offers a multiplayer mode if you want to compete together, although this consists solely of mini-games rather than any co-operative sections within the game.

A nice game, for a very young public but that sometimes will even please the nostalics of old 2D platform games. Surely suitable for kids and families willing to relive the movie adventures with Sid and friends.

Most adults will want to look for more sophisticated fare. [Oct 2009, p.82]
Gameplayer Sweden
While the game offers a great variety in the first half of the game, the later parts feel incomplete and uninspired. The characters feels like the typical video game cast, and with some decent voice acting, this could have been a pretty good game. For kids.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is a straight-forward children’s release that doesn’t push the envelope in any way.

Rigorously mediocre. [Oct 2009, p.95]
