Team Xbox
For the rest of the loony bracket heads out there—those that would never buy a retail version of a college basketball game but follow the tourney religiously—NCAA Basketball 09: March Madness Edition is the best ten dollars that you could ever spend in the month of March.

There is no doubt that NCAA Basketball 09 March Madness Edition was designed with casual players in mind. The limited options and focus will not entice gamers who already own the full version, but at fifteen bucks this is extremely hard not to recommend to casual fans of the sport.

Nice gameplan, poor execution. [June 2009, p.79]
IGN
It’s still a decent game of basketball, it’s just not nearly as cool as it could have been.

Douglas I gave it a7:
Superb paring down of a full fledged release for those of us who are not that into sports games. MME has a been a great way to enjoy high quality basketball gaming while avoiding the $60 price tag. The game play seems to not be lacking any of the robust features of a the full EA release, but that is part of the downfall of the game. Having not been into a basketball video game since "Live 97" the controls seemed foreign and the learning curve was steep. The menus are not intuitive and are a struggle to navigate by a novice like me. The game is optimized for use on HD televisions, but that leaves users like me struggling to read the slim fonts within the menu system. Overall, I still found value in a reasonable priced port of a smooth playing, realistic, high quality basketball game at the one time of the year when I am genuinely interested in the game. I hope that in future releases, it will become more novice friendly.
